A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of Joseph Ritch in the Ardoyne district of North Belfast.
Police said a file on the ‘suspicious death’ has now been sent to prosecutors.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the PSNI said a 30-year-old man “arrested by detectives investigating the suspicious death of Joseph Ritch has been released to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS)”.
Mr Ritch, 31, died days after a physical altercation, which took place in North Belfast’s Flax Street on Friday March 18.
Detective Inspector Ian Davis said: “A 30-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on 18 March and released on bail pending further enquiries, returned for questioning this morning, Tuesday April 26. He was further arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released pending a report to the PPS.
“I would encourage anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 478 of 18/03/22.”
