Juno Caprotinae was worshiped on this day, when women offered sacrifice to her beneath a wild fig tree. Both slave women and freeborn women attended this rite, and fig-tree branches became part of the sacred objects. Also, "milky juice of the fig tree was offered" -- the juice from gifs was offered t othe goddess in place of milk. (Varro, _De Lingua Latina_ 6.18)
