I'm finding that I have a major beef with the Lua ecosystem: half of all the libraries online are out-of-date and broken.
Apparently there was some major breaking changes a few minor versions back and there is a fuck-ton of code that hasn't been updated in nearly a decade. So what seems like most fucking accepted answers on SO link to shit that doesn't work unless you install some old-ass version of Lua. Frustrating.
I still enjoy using the language and I think it's an excellent choice for embedded scripting capability but damn if it's not difficult to find working libraries.
