Probably far too long. Started planning our move around 5 years ago, 5 weekends to go! After some therapy, I know that's an anxiety response related to my OCD.
Settle in to new home, old house gets upgraded and sold. Life in Tasmania becomes normal!
I'm answering this in January 2022, as I'd forgotten to finish this answer, but back then, I'd have considered getting a ODD/ADD diagnosis for my youngest to be something, we were really struggling with her behaviour, but that has improved with therapy and meds.
Since then, we've had a number of challenges, just travelling from Canberra -> Hobart was a challenge, with an electric car, COVID numbers skyrocketing at the same time, then getting to a house that's not has had a significant amount of wear and tear since we left it, and a huge amount of hand sized spiders through the house. I've not really overcome the spiders challenge as yet.
Our traiditions are pretty tame, just lunch at Mum and Dad's, but this year was interuppted by me getting heavy covid symptoms, and no test results until 3 days after Christmas. Also, the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Love watching it, have no interested in participating. Is definitely a part of my Christmas!
Maps, yes. I much prefer getting the address and figuring out my own directions than relying on someone elses. Though, getting through the unfamiliar port city of Hobart has been a challenge at times!
