Heya, Knijn here. Today we'll be talking about VoxVM[1], they're a hosting company that offers web hosting, VPS' and dedicated servers. I thought I should probably post my experience at least in text form.
I *did* get sponsored to promote VoxVM, but that is related to my Youtube channel. My sponsorship will not influence what is being said here, since I find it unethical to spread misinformation.
I got a dm from AngyMuffin[2] in my channel Discord guild, telling me to dm them. AngyMuffin is the owner of VoxVM. They were very nice to me and I proposed a 5600X host with 64G of RAM. We called the same day making my account on VoxVM's client panel.
VoxVM did take some time deploying the server, but that wasn't their fault. Eventually I had my server up and running within a few days of reaching out again.
I will be moving my website and gempod to this machine sometime in the near future. Once my networking speeds are actually good. Right now I'm getting 10mbps up/down to the server because a traffic is being routed through an interconnect by Tata Communications and they seem to be having issues. I test my networking speed to the server using Librespeed[3] which I set up there.
I have been designing a thing called GemTube which is basically Antenna but for videos. It will have re-encodes hosted at my server. The original will be hosted at the uploader's gempod. It will be available at gemtube.knijn.one whenever I am done with the project
