The latest GUS crawl just finished. They take a while to run these days, so instead of the old daily rhythm I've been falling into more of a crawl-every-couple-weeks rhythm. Since the last crawl in mid-November, we've seen continued strong growth of Geminispace, especially of the number of domains.

One idea propsed by Remco in some discussion with them was to intentionally limit GUS to content-type: text/gemini. This would make GUS a lot simpler to run, which would be nice for me personally, but it would also mean GUS wouldn't be a source of information for any other content types any more. Binary content, like images, audio, video, etc, wouldn't be indexed. Does anyone have feelings about that? Does anyone like/use/derive benefit from that functionality being there now? Please let me know if you have any thoughts on the matter!
As always, please feel free to send any questions, feedback, or ideas for GUS to me at vee@vnsf.xyz
