now listening: Let the Chaos Reign - Pop Evil - Let the Chaos Reign

I forgot to mention last night that I ran into a weird problem with XMODEM on the SC131: suddenly, receiving files stopped working. The transfer would be started on the SC131, e.g.

B:> XM RP TEST.ARC

and then kicked off on from minicom, a process that has worked for a while. Well, the transfer would never start: no NAKs, nothing. It'd just timeout waiting for the transfer. So, I reset a bunch of stuff, changed some settings, nothing worked. Then I remembered that one of the pins (CTS) was broken. I think that was the problem: the SC131 (and RC2014) use hardware flow control, and since they couldn't send a CTS signal, they weren't able to signal that the transfer could begin.

I swapped out with a new FTDI cable that wasn't broken and voila, it it worked.

I recorded a short asciicast of running Turbo Pascal on the RC2014, and now I'm starting a notebook to take notes on the ARC format and Turbo Pascal.
