Good fiction is supposed to make us respond to the characters like real people, and my limited start to *Cyberpunk* (only about 30 minutes in) leads me to think it's really good fiction.
Plus, as you say, with how the world is nowadays, it would be worse if you did have lots of human contact. That's not what we're supposed to be doing right now.
