The Oxymoronist Media Guide

Introduction

This is an essay in several parts about media literacy, including a collection of links to a few potentially useful resources mainly on the English and French speaking web. A few other gemini sources have also been included.

The guide reflects my personal opinions and biases at my current level of understanding. No one has asked me to write it. I'm not a media expert. Do your own research and draw your own conclusions!

The essay is under construction. This is, more or less, the plan:

The following parts have been written so far, but may be updated or restructured at any time:

Part 1. Media literacy

Part 2. Annotated links

Part 3. Fake news

Part 4. Fact checkers

Part 5. Media trust

Part 6. Propaganda, an introduction

Part 7. Information flow

Part 8. Inoculation

Part 9. Free speech

Part 10. Media ownership

Part 11. Internet censorshi

Part 12. Conspiratorial thinking

Part 13. Psychology of propaganda
