From novice pancake flippers to the most skilled batter-makers, plenty of us will be whipping out the frying pan this week for Pancake Tuesday.

After an analysis of the top-searched pancake toppings in the UK, one survey by SlotsUp revealed the top 10 most popular toppings ahead of the big day.
1. Nutella
Nutella is officially the most searched pancake topping. From ice cream to toast, we love it on everything so it’s no surprise it takes top spot this pancake day.
Try your Nutella pancakes with banana slices and strawberries for a fruity twist or marshmallows and whipped cream for a truly decadent breakfast.
2. Lemon and Sugar
It’s no surprise this classic combination is up there with the top toppings this Pancake Tuesday.
Mixing sweet and sour, this is a pairing that has stood the test of time.
3. Ham and Cheese
After the sugary-sweetness of the top two toppings, ham and cheese has taken third spot as one of our favourite pancake fillings.
While already popular on pizzas and omelettes, this savoury combo is one to try if you’re looking for something new this Tuesday.
4. Cheese
Another savoury favourite, cheesey pancakes are the fourth most-searched pancake topping.
Pancakes made with cheesy batter or simply some cheesy goodness sprinkled on top of your warm fresh-out-the-pan pancakes, this savoury treat is growing is popularity.
Spice up your cheesy cakes with some relish or chutney and some crispy bacon.
5. Golden syrup
Classic golden syrup takes just fifth place, despite being a popular option for over 100 years.

7. Ice Cream
With so many flavours to try on your pancakes, ice cream is a sure favourite topping for all the family.

8. Banoffee
Banana and toffee is another classic flavour combo taking pancake topping options to a new level.
