The Amazing fnt400's Tinylog

The new new thing is Gemini protocol. The new new thing within the new new thing is setting up a personal Tinylog (or Minilog, as you want to call it).

It seems that it's becoming a standard. If you hate Twitter, but in the deep of your heart you miss it, you can use the bash script "lace" to subscribe and read to many tinylogs. Here's the Gemini page that explains where to find and how to use it:

One other little thing: why he's saying that Gemini is not attractive anymore as it was last year? The protocol didn't change at all! Maybe he was hoping of a global spread of Gemini use, but I think that will never happen. Gemini is forever for few (unfortunately).

HexDSL is abandoning Gemini (and Linux too). He says he's bored by the minimalistic approach, so now he has a Windows 11 computer and a Wordpress website. I've no complains to do but I'm a little sorry about that. I used to read what he published, but the new web site doesn't attract me very much. After all it's just another wordpress website.

Ok. Every year the same question: it's 2:24 in the morning and the second half is not even started. What I have to do? Stay awake until the very end or go to bed hoping that the PVR doesn't abandon me? (talking about Superbowl, obviously)

Abandoning doom emacs to switch to the cleaner David Wilson's rational-emacs new package.

Discovering the artificial language Toki Pona (The language of good). It reminds me Gemini itself.

Why podcasts are moving from rss to propretary interfaces? Please stop! I don't want to use you propretary crap to listen to free podcast!

I've just bought a ergonomic chair with support on the knees. The Ikea one. After 15 minutes I'm already thinking to take it back.

Wed, 02 Feb 2022 23:03:29 +0100

How sad. Tonight I came out of work on a break and found a cool bookstore behind via Paolo Sarpi. Those dusty beautiful shops with books all stacked up in no real order. So I bought two books, one about the Soviet Union and another about Muslim mystics. The bookseller gave me the latest issue of his magazine as a gift: a jumble of no-vax pseudoscience and conspiracy theories. Why? Why?

Wed, 02 Feb 2022 22:59:46 +0100

Fri, 21 Jan 2022 23:01:49 +0100

And I discovered that there is a similar minimalistic microblogging format called twtxt. But "two is better than one" is not always true.

Fri, 21 Jan 2022 22:57:41 +0100

I'm reading something about tinylogs on geminispace (I thought its name was minilogs.. whatever...). I'm not suer that the dates in my posts fit with starndard proposal, but I think yes... after all is a simple "date -R"

Fri, 21 Jan 2022 18:59:14 +0100

Here's another test... I promise that's the last one!

Fri, 21 Jan 2022 18:55:04 +0100

Fri, 21 Jan 2022 18:48:57 +0100

I have also written some new content for the Retro-Spective section. It talks about my switch from Arch to Debian GNU/Linux distro. It's in two parts. Today there's the first one.

Wed Mar 10 10:30:33 PM CET 2021

I found other people that remember and appreciate beat time (HexDsl and Uoou). I thought I was the last on the earth. Now I'm a little bit jealous.

But my question is: for me in Europe Beat Time is ok, but what about people in Australia or in America. How can they handle the date change. They still change it at @0?

Oh, they probably don't care about Beat Time. Nobody has cared about it in the last 20 years!

Sat Mar 6 09:47:39 PM CET 2021

Fri Mar 5 09:03:23 PM CET 2021

Do you know I'm Italian and as most Italians I'm passing this week watching the "Festival di Sanremo" (Italian songs contest). 5 and more hours of absolutely boring live tv every night.

Fri Feb 19 07:53:31 PM CET 2021

I was thinking that it could be useful to write a script collecting different minilogs... and I discover the great lace by friendo.monster... Perferct!!!

Thu Feb 18 11:35:14 PM CET 2021

Now it's time to go to bed. Maybe, first I'll read some pages of my chess book borrowed from the local library. (So I'll understand why I am so dumb to lose the Bishop on the 5th move! Shit!)

Thu Feb 18 11:32:47 PM CET 2021

Ok. Final score: 2 losses (like a dumb), and 1 hard but great victory! Chess.com score 968. I have to pass 1000! Absolutely!
