an article should be as long as it needs to be, and no longer
some papers are too detailed. they usually ramble on about unrelated topics before getting to the main point.
this may be due to poor education, where students are forced to meet a certain word count in their essays.
i'm not great at writing, but i like to think that my posts are readable and not overly fluffy!
