Gardai across Cork and Ireland are currently involved in a nationwide anti-speeding operation as part of 'Slow Down Day'.
The 24-hours of action on our roads, which will include checkpoints, mobile patrols and cameras, started at 7am this morning and will continue until 7am tomorrow (Wednesday).
There will be high-visibility checkpoints and operations in Cork and across the country to ensure that speed limits are being respected.
Gardai say the overall objective is to reduce the number of speed-related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on Irish roads.
