I am looking for a terminal gemini browser that I can block the ability to save files or follow non-gemini urls. I have looked at modifying astro but I wish pages were displayed with numbered links. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there a security reason people will write their email as some variation of example AT emailservice.com instead of example@emailservice.com? Is this just a preference or is it something like protection against email botcrawlers?

@gnuserland There seems to be a problem with your Atom timestamps in the gemini://gnuser.land/gemlog/atom.xml feed. The "updated" time of a few entries is missing a date: <updatedT12:00:00-0500</updated This causes CAPCOM to think the item is dated for the current day. (The circumlunar CAPCOM is also not filtering future dates, it seems... 🙂)

I’ve been delving into 3DO homebrew, have managed to load some images and make the controller cycle through them. Compared to the PS1 and Sega Saturn, the 3DO dev has been a much smoother experience so far. The community welcoming and helpful, too!

I'm starting to feel pressured into returning to Facebook for the sake of my IRL friendships. I have a lot of old friends I'd like to reconnect with. Facebook, for us milennials, (at least here in the US) is treated like a near-universal directory for persons, businesses, events, etc. When I want to check the hours of a local bar or restaurant, I often have to ask others to check their Facebook page. I made such a big deal out of leaving Facebook that I'd look like a total ass if I returned. Obviously I would only use it in container tabs and I wouldn't download the phone app... I don't know, though... would this make me a hypocrite, as a FOSShead? I'm feeling very isolated IRL

My capsule has yet again gone down along with the entire cluster array of SDF servers, basically as soon as I had published a new article on aggregators. How embaressing. Maybe this is the push I need to host my own server like ive been planning. Ive hosted public MC servers before where people could enter in my computers public IPv4 open port number to connect. I think I can handle getting the service up and porting forward geminis port. Its getting a domain name set up that i've never done before. Any website maintainers have suggestions with name providers or just in general?

Some numbers. So far, the cited (by Ukrainians, Russia pretends they don't exist) number of killed Russian soldiers is ~4300. In 3 days. The total count of Soviet soldiers killed in Afghanistan over ten fucking years is 13833. The total count of Russian soldiers killed in the Second Chechen War over almost three years is 4572. I have no words to add to that, only gestures.

Soooo, I've taken both the entrance exams for BSc. CSIT and Computer Engineering. I got an scholorship in CSIT but I will be choosing Engineering if I got lucky and somehow I got to study in government college. Anyway I will be studying "computers". Or shouod I go with CSIT anyway?

Antenna post on blocking countries by IP (not a good thing to do!) made me wonder what approaches people take towards hostile actors. Personally, I do almost nothing. fail2ban on some common stuff, maybe firewall the odd pointlessly persistent crawlers. On the whole, I just don't bother. For web servers, it always seemed like triggers on URL patterns should be a standard mechanism - like, there are few valid reasons an IP should be asking for wp-admin/ except me, right? Easy and instant IP block win.

Again over the issue about: gemini.circumlunar.space The mailing list is over the "official" web page is down. This is not a good service for Gemini, people are concerning about "external" attack but the problem are coming internally. Today I was unable to provide the official documentation, I opted for "geminiquickst.art" but also this page is linked to circumlunar. This situation must be fixed urgently who knows the people involved should try to contact them. The current state cannot continue anymore! Unless "we" elect another domain as official documentation and accordingly we change all our references to circumlunare.
