I thought I'd better check in to say that I'm still breathing. I have been enjoying reading your phlogs and gemlogs. In particular, I've found several posts on Shufei's Weiphlog quite interesting[1]. Her claim that it's "more mirth than matter" is quite untrue. There's some good stuff in there! Congrats to Sloum on taking the plunge and leaping into a new life[2]. If you do decide to start a restaurant, I hear that the third or fourth occupant in a space can make it if they get the equipment for pennies on the dollar. It's a tough gig. Slugmax has been trolling the depths of gopherspace[3]. I recall a general back-and-forth conversation in gopherspace about how interesting that can be ... maybe a year or more ago. Cameron of Floodgap fame announced that he's going to scale down development of TenFourFox[4]. I've always admired that project -- and his commitment to keeping gopher alive. As for me, I watched the big stuck ship with the rest of you. Imagine how satisfying it must have been to be on one of those tugs and see it start to break free. I'm surprised that I haven't found any footage yet. There must be some out there. The absolutely massive, I-should-never-have-attempted-it bathroom construction project is nearing it's end. Thank goodness. It started two years ago with the removal of all that potentially asbestos-laden drywall and then got derailed by the need to adjust to COVID-19 at work. I can't wait for it to be done. Then I get to demolish the old bathroom and turn it into a small office/bedroom. That will be a much less demanding project. I'll post some pics of the new bathroom when it opens for business. It's the nicest room in our house! Not so long ago, I re-read Solderpunk's piece on pseudonymity[5]. I totally get it. I have a number of projects that I have undertaken under a pseudonym on the internet that I would be proud to be publicly associated with. There are also aspects of my offline life that I wish I felt more free to talk about here. Sometimes, it seems like it would be easier to just phlog under my real name. But in other ways, I'm glad that I don't. I'm not sure that I'd deal well with the overlap.
