Today I started my morning like every morning. Pulling myself out of my warm bed to go about my day. I showered and then made my bed. I then had my own personal devotion time. I finished off a 365 day devotional that I started over 2 years ago. And I read 1 Samuel Chapter 5 and Philippians chapter 3. I start most mornings with the reading of God's word because it helps bring my heart into a place to worship and glorify God throughout the day.
I also feel like I have been struggling to find new ideas for programming. And I just feel discouraged because I am not exercising my skills. It's hard for me to get motivated when I don't think I'll be able to complete a project or if it seems *too hard*. So, hopefully I will find inspiration soon!
Also just so you guys are aware, I write this as my day goes on. It's not really a reflection of my day. I usually just write about things I am doing throughout the day, or thoughts I am having. I have decided to dub this a "Rolling Release" gemlog.
Tonight I went to hangout with my fiancee, as I usually do. Except this time we got to go over to someones house and pet a cat! The only thing is that these people were not home, they are out of town. A member of our church had texted my fiancee and asked if we could go play with her cat because the cat gets lonely (poor thing). We don't have to feed it or anything, that was already taken care of. We had free reign to go pet the most cuddly cat ever, and I just needed to let you know.
I sat at my desk trying to come up with a new program idea that I could just work on. I was trying to think of something that I would enjoy and that was in the same genre as my interests. I decided to try and do something that I could use as a linux utility because I run Arch as my main OS on my laptop. I decided to take on the fun task of writing my own shell! Of course it won't be anywhere close to functional. But, I think it would be cool to have a project that I can keep going back to and adding features to over the years. And who knows, maybe after a few years of wokring on it I will finally switch from using fish to my own created shell.
That is all I had to really share today. Thanks for listening to my random garble of words. If you thought this was cool, let others know. Not for my sake, but because I want gemini to continue to grow!
