It's hard to fall asleep when you're nauseated, especially in the rough seas. I threw up a couple of times, and my stomach was empty. When your stomach's empty, you start running low on energy. I had no idea what awaited me should I beach on the shores. Wild animals? Savage humans? It could be anything. What if... what if I docked on some abandoned island in the middle of nowhere? I'd read a story about that when I was a kid. Ugh! I hadn't learned any survival skills for the wilderness. It had started raining. Hailstorm. I was glad I hadn't opened the hatch. It was dry and considerably warm inside. But now I was beginning to feel really unprepared for this part of the journey. If the capsule crashed on some rocks or some cliff, I'd be in some real trouble. I'd landed in the ocean. But I didn't know how to swim. FUCK! FUCK!! FUCK! FUCK!! FUCK!! FUCK! FUCK!! It was time to pray. Dear God, Heavenly Father, Please get me out of this alive! Please! Please! Please! I beg you! Please get me to the shore safely and I will do all the nice things I could! Please don't let me die at sea! I don't wanna drown! I'd never feared water this much in my life. It's interesting how many truths we discover about ourselves when our lives are in real danger. I, for one, just realized that I still wasn't ready to die. Still! I'd probably outlived any other mortal in the history of mankind. And yet I wanted to live some more. Isn't that strange?
