I suppose it's possible, if it's something you've known about and wanted, and visualised what it would be like to actually have it. There might be a better term phrase to use than 'to miss' something in that context though, possibly regret, or even longing. Or maybe the german word sehnsucht?
Not something I've personally been through really no. Most of the folks I know who've ended long relationships like that haven't really re-invented themselves, they've rather become more themselves, in both positive and negative ways I guess.
Not having to use a stupid government mandated app every time I want to buy a coffee, and being able to actually plan interstate travel again, without the risk of having to quarantine on return, or be stuck away from home. Australia's been pretty well handled so far, but yeah, we get lightning lockdowns and travel restrictions when infections start spreading.
I guess, a colleague from my previous job surprised me by getting in to contracting to Federal Government at a vast increase in rate, last I'd heard he'd got a raise and promotion from the private enterprise we were both at, the unsurprising part is that the raise + promotion was just words.
That's not something I've considered when thinking if a person is interesting. Looking back, I suppose most of the interesting folks I've met seem to have at least one thing they're passionate about, though sometimes a lot more than that! I'm interested in too many things to fit into the time I have available really, coffee, ham radio, general electronics, woodworking, beekeeping, gameboy games, sailing, electric car conversion, libre software... The list could probably go on a bit! I had to give up bonsai, that was just too sad when all the trees died from a single hot afternoon where I didn't water them in time.
