Dragon Ball is a manga about a boy named Goku that possesses incredible strength and loves fighting. It is an adventure-oriented gag manga, with a heavy emphasis on martial arts and humor. The plot involves Goku going on a quest to find all seven Dragon Balls which can grant any wish. It is actually Goku's friend Bulma who wants to find the dragon balls, but Goku tags along for the adventure. On his journey Goku meets new friends and enemies (most of whom become friends), battles in multiple martial arts tournaments, and he does all of this just to get stronger. Goku really isn't all that smart, which plays a role in much of the series' comedy.
The fight choreography is really where the series shines. The many battles flow across the pages. The manga's other strength would be its characters, from Goku's perverted, old master, to his fellow martial artist, Kuririn. Ultimately, I would recommend this manga to anyone who likes good fights, light-hearted comedy, and classic manga.
