Now that 2021 is a week old, I have to come more to terms with the reality that the semester is ending and I have just a couple weeks left to prepare for final exams. I am confident I can do it, but I am so lazy I just dread doing the reading. Not only that, but I'll have to write a couple of assignments most likely. Yay.
After we finished Queen's Gambit, my wife reminded me that she wants to watch an anime. We don't watch them all the time, but we had a good time with Demon Slayer and Vinland Saga. To my surprise she expressed interest in watching Attack on Titan, which I downloaded ages ago but coulnd't really get into. At that time she didn't seem so interested in it either, but I guess she heard about it from her friends and decided she wanted to watch it. It seems she's enjoying it much more than I thought she would, and this time around I started to find it slightly more interesting. I remember watcching the first few episodes before and deciding it was a little boring or slow for me, but it seems I had quit it literally right before an interesting plot twist, so maybe I judged it prematurely.
Years ago I had done the same thing with Game of Thrones; once I had watched the first episode and based on that decided it wasn't for me. Then years later decided to give it another go just because I was interested in David Peterson's conlangs. It took several episodes to take, but when it took we enjoyed it for a long time. (Until it got bad, and even then we finished it anyway.)
On the computer I got a bit tired of playing Moonlighter, which I wanted to review, but I think I haven't done that yet. Before the New Year I bought a handful of games on sale promising myself I wouldn't play them all right away, but rather save them so that they will last a while. I guess that's one way to justify binge-spending on Steam.
So, after ensuring I wanted long enough, I just started playing Hollow Knight, which I knew was probably the best of the bunch. I'm not far in, but it truly is a good game. Definitely recommend it to all.
