So we finally finished the fourth season of Carmen Sandiego, so I figured I'd add this on to the review I did earlier.
Without spoiling anything, at the close of the season we see that the writers left the ending a little bit ambiguous to the point where the show could continue or not continue. In other words, it's all wrapped up enough so that if this ends up being the last season there's enough closure and finality to it, but on the other hand a continuation is not out of the question. It just seemed like the writers were hinting that it's all over.
I found the ending to be reasonably satisfying, but at the same time it felt a little bit rushed and contrived in a manner that I'm sure we're all too familiar with. I might even say that it was probably the weakest season, but I would have to watch it all again to be sure. The final plot spanning the last couple epsidoes was definitely not my favorite.
One thing that I wanted to add to my earlier review about the animation style is that one of the things that particularly stands out in this show are the lighting effects. I mentioned that the show is colorful and atmospheric, and it seems to me that the lighting is one of the key elements that goes into creating that effect. A lot of the scenes are enjoyable for this reason, and overall I think the show makes very effectie use of CGI without making it look unnatural.
Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. There are still plenty of new shows for us to watch like the new seaosns of Disenchantment and Cobra Kai. I also queued up several films, but don't know when we'll get around to watching them. Of course, if any of them stand out I will probably write a review.
