Although as a child I spent a lot of time outside playing football and hide-and-seek with my friends I got addicted to computers when I got my first used 80386 somewhere in the 90th of the last century. Because this machine was already rather old and slow I could not play the "hot games" the other guys were playing and I tried to figure out other ways to use the machine. I stumpled upon Qbasic in MS-DOS, and a new passion was born ...
Anyhow, for my professional career I followed my other passion and studied physics. But my knowledge about programming helped me a lot. Nowadays, I work for the German Space Agency (DLR). Usually, fun things cost money. But for the fun at work, I get payed! Okay, I exaggerate a bit, but it could went worse! ;)

Programming is still my passion today, although I am not really good in it. And since more than a decade I am using GNU/Linux at home as my primary operating system (don't ask me, what I have to use at work ...). I am a big fan of the KISS principle and spend the majority of my computer time in the Linux console. And I am an active member of the Linux User Group in Troisdorf/Germany (TroLUG).
But that's not all: I am a proud father of two not-anymore small kids and have a beautifull and lovingly girlfriend.
If you are interested in finding out more about my interests and hobbies you could also visit my WWW blog, that is much older than my Gemini capsule. But I plan to maintain both, the WWW blog as well as this capsule. If you are interested what I do at work, you find me on LinkedIn.
