Lazyness and bad weather
I finally got a success using IPFS! It is a protocol for distributing content in a peer to peer model. Simply, I can publish my blog on IPFS and if it get synced, I can shutdown my computer, people will be able to read my blog using their own IPFS local daemon or a public instance.
One main issue I had is that IPFS uses a lot of bandwidth to work and I only have an humble DSL internet access, unfortunately the go IPFS implementation doesn't provide any rate/bandwidth control so I had to do it with my local OpenBSD firewall.
I didn't ride for weeks, I just don't feel doing so.
I've been playing with pianos for more than a decade but never succeeded. I never learned music and never had the courage to "hire" a teacher. It's pandemic and not the best moment to have a teacher, a friend recommended my books to learn and it's SO USEFUL AND EFFECTIVE. I wish I knew about that book « La méthode rose » when I started or even when I was a children.
More VR, More Monster Hunter, more GAMES. Sometimes I feel I only accumulate and collect games instead of playing them. My take now is that I play only if I really like because I prefer buying 10 games and try each one for a short time and then find one that really hook me than trying hard to play every game I own that I don't feel ok with.
I see video games like movies or books or cooking recipes. If you don't feel it, stop. Why should I read an entire book if I get really bored after 30 minutes? Why should I continue a movie I don't enjoy? Why should I eat something I cooked that is REALLY bad? (I would still eat it to avoid wastes but you got the point :P)
I currently use a dedicated server for my gemini server, gopher server and mainly my email server. My blog could move to IPFS, Gemini and Gopher could be moved to somewhere else if I really care. I could use Oasis for a social network (I already do) but I just can't ditch my emails because they require a permanent internet access to work.
I would like the idea of a computer working offline. I already use an offline computer but if I could extend it to « doing stuff online then turn my computer off and it still work » is so cooooool.
