Power out for most of the day for a main panel upgrade.
Really a joy to talk with the SEG electricians. Everyone is
getting me excited for parenthood. However during the power
outage I ran dangerously close to running out of laptop
battery. In the evening I spent some time in the spaz
chatroom to listen to Portland's Most Unwanted. I need to
go cull some saplings and lop some limbs.

It's been a productive couple of days-- painting, yardwork,
taking down a dead tree and throwing out my back. I went
and scanned in all of Galactic Empires cards (they have
cool art, okay) only for my mother to ship me even more
later-- now I get to go through and realphabetize them. But
that's a good excuse to listen to my growing tape
collection. Gravel and rock comes soon. Just hope it cools
down a bit soon. This evening I put together the final bits
of django to get the Nullbrook archive to support
collectible items. I spent longer resleeving the cards than
getting Django to display them consistently. My code is
awful and repetitive, but it's easy to read, copy, paste
and add new categories. Still not ready to add video. Maybe
once I get that film scanner...
This week my solar install was finished (except for the
inspection), I got two giant piles of gravel delivered with
one being delivered by mistaken and just given to me
gratis, I got a beautiful shitty '97 Blazer from
Craigslist, and all the supplies I need to build another
4x8 raised bed in the yard. Basically I have everything I
need to not leave the house for the whole of autumn. We
got a tenth of an inch of rain on Friday but smelling the
rain brought me great joy. I've made some progress on a
system for quickly annotating items in the archive. Maybe
once I finish scanning in all the outstanding pieces I can
start giving that a go.
Started work on the raised bed again but realized I didn't
have nails of sufficient length. I decided to try a
hardware store closer to my house and found a lovely little
hobby shop. On the way home, I hit up a few garage sales.
I'm now the proud owner of a functional Singer sewing
machine and a sturdy wooden office chair. The day is cooler
and you can feel the wonderful coming rain in the air. I
was able to finish the wooden frame of the raised bed.
Maybe tomorrow after the rain I'll put down the weed cloth
and dirt. Hell I might even plant the spinach and lettuce
seeds!
Today has been pretty solid today. Spinach is starting to
pop up from the raised beds, blueberry bush is now in the
ground, and Y is starting to show. Apparently, the little
one is able to hear now. So now I guess I should be
watching my language. We spent the day out on a little
date. We got strawberries and cookies at a farmers market
and some crepes in Nevada City. Y got some tasty decaf
drink at Java Johns while I perused some local releases at
Tiger Alley. After heading back home, I spent some more
time outside remounting the weather station atop the shed
and laying out rocks. It's wonderful weather out here now
and I feel incredibly blessed with all that I have.
I felt a boop on Y.
