I'm not making any promises that this content will stay up to date, but I want
to give it a shot.
Read: Hounds of Hell by Keith Laumer in IF Magazine (Nov 1954). The setting in
some near-future North African city with touches of noir were great but it
quickly got weird with the whole man-dog thing.
Plans for the weekend include getting back into VCV rack and going to an estate
sale in SoMa. I'm getting my tape deck back too! Here's to hoping I don't just
spend the rest of the time playing DayZ.
Read: Assassin & Son by Thomas M Disch in IF Magazine (Nov 1954) which had a
sort of fun imagined future where murderers were sent to work as assassins on
a distant planet. The alien creatures### little telepathic blobs, resided in
metal egg bodies. I like this character idea for future RPG games.

SoMa SF is bizarrely empty, even for a weekend. The one cafe that was open
seemed to be running on pre-Covid stock and were out of nearly every item
on the menu. I guess that's one way to liquidate. The estate sale had a nifty
collection of old yearbooks from San Francisco. It was interesting to see how
many of the pages were covered in scrawled notes from classmates. If only I had
a proper book scanner...
Trying to determine the best web framework to use as a try a rewrite of the
Nullbrook website. I know more about databases now so that's something. Going
to start simple. I also burned a CD of old tape samples I had made so I could
mess around with them on the CDJ. That being said, I still can't make a drum
beat if my life depended on it let alone finish a song. I got Wireguard working
on my TrueNAS finally thanks to a helpful article.
Read: Several stories from Japanese Tales including one in which after being
unfaithful to his spectral bride he is given two buckets of his semen that he
had deposited in her over the years.

I slept most of the previous day so excluding it. I did however read
Princess #22 by Ron Goulart in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction
May 1962. What stood out to me the most was how fast-paced the story was. I
suppose that's what to be expected from a periodical like this. Today I tried
out KeeperRL and once again came to the conclusion I should just fucking learn
how to play Dwarf Fortress. No use learning the keybinding of an inferior game.
Continuing work on a Django rework of Nullbrook
