just a question as it’s quoted in this article and elsewhere, but does anyone have a source for the “you’re holding it wrong” quote from steve jobs. Instead following all the leads I can only find the quote “Just avoid holding it in that way.”
I think “you’re holding it wrong” was just a hot take on Jobs suggesting holding the phone differently. I don’t know if there was only one way to hold it to trigger the problem as I could never reproduce the problem. (It seemed to only affect some people.)
Jobs seemed to be feeling a little defensive in that event and probably not really thinking through everything that he said so it came off more harsh that it might otherwise.
The reason I ask is because that phrasing is particularly arrogant and seems to come up a lot when describing his character - while the email that started it all is relatively polite

> “All phones have sensitive areas. Just avoid holding it in this way,” Jobs wrote in an email to Ars Technica at the time. Jobs’ condescending response that essentially stated “You’re holding it wrong” eventually became a meme in itself.
Didn’t someone just post about this a week ago ( not in relation to a bug bounty submission but pointed it out as an issue )? Was that you? Did you collect the bounty on it?
