Perl
Benefits of using local::lib
- You can use the system Perl.
- You can install any modules without root privileges.
- You can use it whenever you need it, and not use it when you don't.
- Useful for immutable systems when you want to use the system Perl but the system Perl's module library is read-only.
Installing local::lib
perl -Mlocal::lib
Loading local::lib automatically
Place in ~/.zshenv or ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc or something:
eval "$(perl -I$HOME/perl5/lib/perl5 -Mlocal::lib)"
Deactivating local::lib temporarily
eval $(perl -Mlocal::lib=--deactivate)
