Something I learned on Yom Kippur this year was to smell spices - specifically cinnamon - to curb hunger pangs. I found that cinnamon tea helps similarly in cases of hunger, reflux, and general stomach grumblings that come with disrupted eating schedules.
I also have fond memories of eating Korean food with my mother, and being served (or pouring from our fridge) cinnamon tea for after the meal.
Instructions:
This works with hot water or black tea, which is the context I'll talk about this in. Brew a dark tea (with the intention to chill it). Once you have the heat off, add a whole stick (or two) of cinnamon. Wait until fully cooled and pour into a bowl, jar, or bottle to store in the fridge. Lasts a good long while. I tend to sweeten mine.
I don't suggest taking more than a good sip, or a small cup after a meal once you're used to it - too much can cause more disruption.
