Date : Dec 12, 2019 Beer : Christmas Ale Source : Breckenridge Brewing Style : Winter Warmer City : Breckenridge, CO ABV : 7.1%
We're almost halfway through Advent, and I've finally reached the first winter ale of the season. I'm surprised that it took this long! This is the first beer that doesn't have a description printed on the label, so I don't have much to go off of for my review.
Most of the christmas ales that I've had in the past have had a strong scent of pine needles. This one doesn't at all. The flavor is actually quite mild. I taste some of the spices; cinnamon, nutmeg, and likely others that I can't name. Nothing is *spicy* or *strong* though. It's hard to believe that this breaks 7 percent ABV, I would have pegged it at 6.
Nothing about this beer stands out enough that I would want to buy it again.
Three or four bottles.
