Christmas cheer at Crumlin children's hospital
Friday, 3 Dec 2021 22:24
Patients Keelan Bergin and Poppy Bolger were guests of honour at the unveiling of the Christmas Winter Wonderland at Children's Health Ireland Crumlin earlier.
Dublin GAA star Bernard Brogan, Santa himself and CHI patients helped to switch on the lights at the hospital.
Staff pulled out all the stops again for children this year.

Although the hospital tries to get as many of their patients at home for Christmas, this year around 170 children will remain in hospital on the big day.
CHI Chief Executive EilÃsh Hardiman said it is very difficult having a child in hospital at any time but especially over the Christmas period.
"It's a special time for staff across CHI because they get to bring the Christmas magic to these families.
"Our staff are our biggest asset and have made an absolutely Trojan effort to get through the past 18 months.
"It's thanks to them and our charity partner Children's Health Foundation that we are fortunate enough to provide these experiences for patients, families and staff," Ms Hardiman said.
