My phone is about 5 years old but still works just fine, except for sometimes being almost out of power in the evening. I considered getting another phone but I run the /e/ ROM and there are limited phone models that are available that I would like. See my rant here:

The new battery came and that very night (last night) I did the repair. It was very easy. All I needed to do was remove the back cover, remove 10 tiny screws using the included iFixit tools, remove the mid cover and then careful pry out the old battery. Then put the new battery in and replace everything in reverse order!
I am currently "calibrating" the battery, which is done by charging it to 100% then leaving it charging for an additional 2 hours. Then run it until the battery dies, then charge it to 100% again. I am in the using it until it is discharged phase, and it has been running for 20 hours with 22% battery left to go.
I wanted to try having some photos in my gemlog so here goes:

Here's to another 5 years?
