I'd like to set up something BBS like but a bit more current.
There are a few actively maintained BBS server projects, and that's really cool, but the menu based ones seem still fixed at 80x24. I guess KOM variants aren't and I really liked those.
Right now I'm thinking of a menu system that keep track of your terminal size and adjust accordingly and show a varying number of panes depending on size. A KOM system could be one of the menu items, text based mastodon and gemini clients other.
Access would be over ssh and you would be dropped into this menu system, it would be your user shell. Other shells could be accessible through menus but restricted. There are pubnixes if you want a typical Unix shell but this is not the experience I want to create here.
