your not going to be using another desktop environment again until the one your using
I can read bspwm's config file as easily as I can read sxhkd's (shortcut keys)
config. The whole configuration over two files is maybe 100 lines including comments.
Sadly bspwm is broken. When I move a window from one space too another I'm never quite sure
what layout I'm going to find when I switch to it, more often than not it's a half
arsed i3 type layout with really thin windows across the screen. Most annoying.
If I open another window whist everything is in that condition everything magically
jumps to standard bspwm window layout.
I've tried different master stack scripts but the problem remains.
I just want a window manager that is consistent and as easy to use and configure as
bspwm.
Unfortunately there isn't one. Most code to my eyes is just gibberish. Bspwm is just
about as complex as my eyes can tolerate.
But wait..
What about dwm? Again the code is just gibberish I can't read it.
Fortunately I don't have to. I can make a couple of changes here and there (mainly
stylistic) and use sxhkd to do most of what I used to do in bspwm.
This is great. The discovery that I can carry over my custom key shortcuts to any
desktop environment is like big fat awesome..
I've used ctrl/space to open up dmenu since #! At least, I almost feel it's the only thing I
need. I find most desktops frustrating without it.
Not that I need now, dwm uses alt/p for it's dmenu. I'm spoilt for choice.
It also means I don't have to input custom key shortcuts into dwm's config. Win.
