Gemini Clients and Unicode
Some comments about how well an assortment of gemini clients handle yeti's pages (see above for link) which do pretty interesting things with unicode.
- Elpher. Seems to work the best. Of course it helps to have some familiarity with/liking for emacs. Definitely impressed with how well everything displays, Unicode-wise. The overall aesthetic is clunky (in the best possible sense), as one would expect from an emacs mode.
- Bombadillo. Also works, with the right terminal, but harder to read than elpher. Works in mate-terminal, not in rxvt (at least, the way I've got it configured)
- Lagrange. Really nice UI. Very modern, if you like that kind of thing. Many of yeti's weird Unicode fonts don't display at all though. Lagrange displays a message that you need to install more fonts, but doesn't indicate which ones or how. (I'm running it on Ubuntu 20.04; possibly the font handling would be different on Windows or MacOS.) This is the most polished looking Gemini browser I tested, although Elaho comes a close second.
- Kristall. More of a classic browser UI than Lagrange, but less featureful. Displays more of yeti's work than Lagrange does, but bombs out on the third-last page.
- Elaho. Very nice mobile gemini client. Works pretty well on yeti's pages but not perfectly.

To a picture of a Teleray terminal in rough shape. Very small image (22K) as SDF's gemini server seems to balk on larger file sizes
