In fact, this is much simpler than we thought at first. Just create an account on a federated home server and then use it with one of the clients: Desktop, Web, Android, IOS.

Recommended way (slightly more complicated)

The more people on different servers, the more robust the decentralization is. So, the first step is not to download Element, yet. Go into this website and choose a server first:

Now you will have:

Your home server.
Your account in the format @your_username:your_server.org. This is the format of a Matrix user account, through which you will be able to be contacted at Matrix.
Your chosen password.

Workspace: you can log into the web application or desktop with your username (see above) and password.
Mobile: download Element to your cell phone or, if you are on PC, simply continue after these instructions to log in.

Simple form (not recommended due to centering)

Just download the Element app, create an account (by default on Matrix.org), and you're in!

Important!

On your first login, the application will ask you to set up your "encryption keys". This ensures that the decryption keys will be stored on the server, encrypted with your password. You can choose to skip this step, but it will still ask you the same thing at each login and you will not be able to see the message history in the attached rooms until you do. Save the master password you generated, as well as your username and password, securely.

In subsequent sessions that you have logged into recently (a new session means logging into another Android/IOS/Desktop/Web app), the app will ask you to verify your new session. This ensures that even if someone finds out your account details they will not have access to your history and you will know that someone else is using your account. You can verify your new session using the main password above, or using another existing session on other devices.

National: At the national level, screening may take place because there is more sensitive and personal information being shared. Thus, some rooms are accessible by invitation only. The administrators of the national rooms are in the European or global rooms, so if you want to participate, ask them to invite you there.

Linking a room in Element to a room in Telegram

Just let the bots do all the work for you:

In each room, invite the correct bot.

In the Telegram room, an admin should add a bot called "Matrix Telegram Bridge".
In the Element room, an admin must invite a bot named "Telegram Bridge".

Go to the Telegram room and type exactly this message: `/id@matrix_t2bot`. The bot in the Telegram room will then throw a number. (For example: -12345).
Go to the Element room and send this message: `bridge -12345`. Note: Put the number you got from the Telegram bot.
If the connection was successful, the Element room bot will display the following message "Telegram chat has no existing portal. To confirm the chat connection to this room, use 'continue'." If that's the case, it sends a message saying "continue" and you're done. The two rooms are connected!

Element tips and tricks

THE OTHERS CANNOT SEE MY MESSAGES

In encrypted rooms, it can happen that others can't see your messages. To solve this problem:
