The Kobudoka

Description: The Kobudoka is an oriental warrior and masters of
Kobudo, and Kobujutsu.  Kobujutsu is the art of using the covert
waepons and from it developed Kobudo the way of using the covert
weapons.  The Kobudoka will never use his covert weapons in anger
or malice.
     Their main attributes are strength and speed, so high
strength and dexterity are prefered.  Since strength and speed
are of the essence. he needs at least a 14 in both.  A high
constitution is also important.

Role: The Kobudoka is an oriental warrior trained in the fields
of Kobudo and Kobujutsu.  He serves a powerful lord known as a
daimyo, and will teach others the arts of Kobudo and Kobujutsu.
They will develope their skills only with the sword, and
eridicate evil with these weapons.  The Kobudoka can find jobs as
covert weaponsmiths, woodworkers, warriors, and daimyos
themselves.

Secondary Skills: If your DM is using secondary skills the
character can select any of the following secondary skills:
Armorer, Scribe, Weaponsmith, and Woodworker.  The character can
have any two of the four.

Weapon Proficiencies: Required: rokushakubo, sai, kama, tonfa,
and the nun chaku.  The Kobudoka must become proficient in these
weapons only, and should become proficient in each hand with the
use of the sai, kama, tonfa, and the nun chaku.

Nonweapon Proficiencies: Bonus nonweapon proficiencies: Blind-
fighting.  Recommended (General): Carpentry, direction sense,
etiquette, singing; (Warrior): Armorer, endurance,
weaponsmithing.

Special Benefits: The Kobudoka has the arts known as Kobudo and
Kobujutsu: This is the art and way of the covert weapons, giving
the Kobudoka a +1 bonus to hit and to damage with these weapons.
     The Kobudoka can use any onthe following in each hand
without penalty: sai, kama, tonfa, and the nun chaku.  They can
make numerous attacks per round. (Ex. A 14th level Kobudoka using
a sai in each hand can make 2 attack with his right hand and 2
with his left.)  See Table on p. 26 for the number ofattacks per
round.
     The Kobudoka recieves a bonus of double the normal defense
adjust for his armor class.

Special Hindrances: The Kobudoka will only wear chain or lighter
armor, and only recieves the bonus defense adjustment in leather
or lighter armor.  The Kobudoka can be any alignment but most are
neutral in some way (lawful neutral, neutral (true, good or
evil), or chaotic neutral).
     The Kobudoka only recieves his Kobudo and Kobujutsu art with
the weapons he chooses at first level.  The Kobudoka will not
recieve the bonus for weapon that he become proficient in after
1st level.

Wealth Options: The Kobudoka recieves the usual 5d4 x 10gp in
starting gold.  While the Kobudoka can have any monetary amount
of treasure, they cannot have more treasure than they can carry.

Races: Any race that wishes to learn the ways of the convert
weapon may become a Kobudoka, but it is only recommended for
humans half-elves.  Nonhuman characters are limited to their
racial restrictions of their choosen class.

Notes: The Kobudoka is an oriental warrior that has brought his
talents and taught them to the western world.  If the DM wishes
he can use the honor tables found in the Oriental Adventures, or
the DM can chose not to use the honor tables.  In either case the
Kendoka will teach his arts of Kobudo and Kobujutsu, and will
teach others how to make the covert weapons.
