And floppies are also extremely important to retrocomputing, as it is frequently the only way to get data to and from an old computer.

I recall getting DOS machines confused with bad floppies to the point they'd need a reboot too. Especially with non standard "extra space" formats that would read differently on a different drive than they'd been produced with.
