It's definitely getting towards spring, the weather is changeable and today was back to the warm and sunny side of the scale. My afternoon ride took me down Gardiners creek to the Glen Iris wetlands where I spent a few minutes cruising around and looking out over the ponds. Nothing much out of the ordinary; Noisy miners[1] calling in the trees everywhere, and waterbirds on and around the ponds. Pairs of Dusky moorhens[2] and Coots[3] making lots of noise and splashes, two or three swamphens[4] stalking around on the muddy edges, plucking up bits of tasty greenery. I guess it'll be the start of nesting season soon.
