After writing yesterday about a thornbill, this morning I glanced up at a flicker of movement outside the window to see a thornbill darting back and forth around the flowers in the camellia and hebe in the garden bed between the study window and the fence. I've seen wattlebirds there before, and the occasional blackbird hopping along the fence, but never a thornbill. Once again, so small and fast moving, and they never sit still so I'll just cross my fingers and look through the pictures in the bird book and say its a Brown thornbill[1]
