A very blustery, windy afternoon as I went out for my ride today, consequently most of the bird life was hidden away with only a few to be seen or heard.
The Crested pigeons[1] were there in their usual spot on the grass near Warrigal road and the creek, carefully sheltered, but only around ten of them today, well done on the large numbers I've seen before. Noisy miners[2] and wattlebirds called from the bushes, but mostly were hidden from view. Down at the Glen Iris wetlands almost everything must have been sheltering under the bushes, there was hardly anything to be seen, just a pair of pee-wees[3] on the grass and a small flock of Wood duck[4] upstream on Gardeners creek. It really was not the weather for wildlife spotting
