Ugh, nearly two weeks later and all of a sudden the time has caught up with me and I hadn't written up my daily posts. So much for my commitment
A school holiday outing, half the day spent riding around Fawkner Park and Albert Park looking for geocaches and at the waterbirds. Black swans[1] everywhere, almost all of them with tags, some leg tags and some strangely uncomfortable-looking neck collars. Son and I sat at a waterfront café table and he counted ten bird species in view, all in or around the water.
Late in the day walking back into the house we watched a Ring-tailed possum[2] scampering across the roof and off along the cable to the power poles. They sound so clumsy and heavy footed when we're inside, but then I watch them and they can run along a slender moving wire
