Riding home from work along Gardiner road then Forster road, there's a constant shrieking from roosting noisy miners[1] as they organise themselves for the night's roost. Then as I pass the security gates for the site on the corner of Forster and Ferntree Gully roads there's an alarm to warn passersby that the gates are opening -- sounds the same and I'm sure one day I'll have a close call with a motorist who drives through their gates, believing that the alarm means they don't have to give way at the give way line where they cross the bike path.
