Back in lockdown, a morning and early afternoon spent gardening but I won't mention the enormous orb spider until I know more about it.
Out for a family ride within our 5km boundary in the late afternoon; Ardrie park, Hedgeley Dene, Glen Iris wetlands. Nothing spectacular to see although we did get to watch a White-faced heron feeding in the shallows, very bright orangy-brown breeding plumage on top of the mostly grey body. It would stalk slowly forwards then lift one leg and stir the mud with a vigorous shake of its foot, then step forward a few steps and repeat with the other leg, all the time watching for anything disturbed from underfoot. Other than that and a few Dusky moorhen[2] all we saw was an interminable number of Gambusia[3] swimming around in the shallows
