2020/1105/1700 — Huntingdale wetlands

Cold grey day, the weather on a roller coaster this week. A brief afternoon ride down the Djerring trail bike path to Clayton, up through the suburb past hospital and university, rejoin Scotchmans creek bike path and through the Huntingdale wetlands.

Noisy miners[1] a-plenty throughout the suburb and wetlands, mobbing and chasing everything. They're one of the native success stories -- successful to the extent of driving other species away. I saw them chasing Little raven[2] and Red wattlebird[3], together with shrieking at everything in general and the intruder on his bicycle in particular. Also the usual mix of coot[4], moorhen[5], swamphen[6] and black ducks[7]
