I love Gemini, I love IRC, XMPP, the fediverse and frankly, I don't care who thinks the technological tools I use are going to take off or not. As long as these tools exist, for me to use, then I happy.
Some people think that if a billion plus people aren't using the tech tools that they've adopted, then the tech, it's useless. I don't accept that premise. There are many ways to do the same things and it should be thus. That's the reason we don't put all our proverbial eggs in one proverbial basket.
Anyway, I have this one Linode VPS that I'm using to run my Writefreely blog but I use it for so much more, I run a mumble server, an xmpp server, now a agate Gemini capsule, a NextCloud instance and probably something else that escapes me at the moment.
The point is, the price is right. I've been using Linux exclusively, since 1998 and my distribution of choice is Debian. I love using the console and console tools, heck until recently, my favorite web browser was Lynx, now I've fell in love with a Gemini browser called bollux.
Bollux is a web browser written in bash. If I had my way there would be no reason to leave the terminal. Anyway my capsule will feature things that I like. Western civilization, the United States, Latin, Linux, math and all forms of technology from electricity, the telephone, radio, television, computers and all useful gadgets.
