The current weather models are showing a storm that one of Ireland's biggest forecasters says "needs careful watching. People have been advised not to do the outdoor decorations just yet as the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts are projecting a potential big one to come right over Ireland next week. If it does map out the way they're predicting it'd hit Cork on Tuesday, and even before that the county's expecting plenty of rain, sleet, hail, and maybe even Thunder. Carlow Weather say: "Latest ECWMF charts out this morning and show potential storm for Tuesday coming right in over us. This one really needs careful watching. Maybe don’t put up the outdoor decorations this weekend." For today Met Eireann are forecasting a calm one, but say it won't last as tonight will see things get a bit more turbulent. They said: "A dry start this morning but cloudy overall. Patchy rain and drizzle will push in from the Atlantic later this morning, turning more persistent for a time in the afternoon. "he rain will clear eastwards to scattered showers by evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in a light variable breeze. "A band of showery rain will move in from the west early tonight, clearing to scattered showers overnight. Some showers will be heavy with the potential for hail and sleet, particularly over higher ground. "Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds." Saturday will see the cold spell return, and along with the wind and heavy rain it could be nasty. "Tomorrow will be cold and blustery with frequent showers, some heavy with the potential for hail, sleet and isolated thunderstorms. Afternoon temperatures of just 4 to 6 degrees in moderate to fresh west to northwest winds." Share your Snow-pinions below, or click here.
