Cork woman Siobhan McSweeney has been a hero on Leeside for years but now she will be featuring in a brand new superhero comedy series which will air on the Disney+ streaming service, alongside another Cork native. Rebel Siobhan, who grew up in Aherla, is no stranger to comedy - her portrayal of Sister Micheal in the hit show 'Derry Girls' ticked funny bones all over the world. Another celebrated Cork actress, Mairead Tyers from Kenneth Branagh's 'Belfast', will star alongside her, playing the lead role in this exciting new comedy series. Mairead Tyers, Cork actress McSweeney is playing her mam in the series, which began filming in London this week. This isn't your usual superhero comedy - there is a bit of a twist. Jen, the main character who will be played by Mairead, is described as a 'painfully self-aware woman who lives in a world where everyone has a superpower... except her". Which leads us to wonder if Siobhan MacSweeney's character will have a superpower, and what exactly that will be.... .
