Oaxacan Coffee
This is a riff on Irish Coffee using one of my favorite spirites, mezcal. The mezcal's smoke and funk plays very nice with a strong cold brew and is a perfect kind of summer brunch drink.
Yields one 7-8oz drink.
Ingredients
- 2oz of either: Fine Mezcal (Del Maguey Vida is good) or Del Maguey Crema de Mezcal
- Agave Nectar (if not using Crema de Mezcal)
- 4 oz. Coffee (cold)
- Whipped cream (optional)
Steps
- Combine Coffee, Alcohol, and a teaspoon or so of agave nectar (if using) in a mixing glass.
- Add ice and stir briefly.
- Pour into glass.
- (Optional). Spoon/Layer wipped cream on top.
