I made some bread last night that is a recipe I've made many times before. This time I changed it slightly by adding a bit of cinnamon to the honey oat bread and criminetly is it flippin good! It was good before but the cinnamon really puts it over the top. What is it about fresh baked bread that gives you such an intense urge to wolf the whole loaf down while it's still warm? It was quite difficult but I managed to control myself and only eat a slice and half. The rest became french toast this morning and it was amazing as well.
smolZINE Issue 15 is out now and is a pretty good one once again thanks to the community contributers. Hopefully everyone finds the new games enoyable. As always if you are enjoying smolZINE and like to write, I would love to have some new contributors. It doesn't take much. A short essay on a topic you're passionate about, some cool capsule finds with a brief description or something totally new even. I'm open to suggestions. Hit me up via email if you would like to submit something.
I jump all over the place between different systems and games depending on my mood or when I get really into a particular game. It had been a little while because I've been mostly playing my Odroid Go but the last week I've been playing on my PSP a lot. I've played a lot of Frogger Helmet Chaos which is a surprisingly good semi-3D top-down puzzle platformer. Really enjoying that one but I keep taking little breaks from it when I get stuck. It's a fairly difficult game but in a good way. Other games I've been playing a little bit of are Hot Shots Golf 2, Archibald's Adventures and Gurumin. That is until yesterday when I jumped back into FlatOut Head On. Now I'm addicted to this game again :-). Specifically I really love the mini-games. They strike a really good balance of being absurd, fun and difficult but not too difficult. There is a wide selection of games that boil down to launching your driver through the windshield and trying to aim your limp ragdoll body at various targets to score points and it's a flippin blast! Difficult enough that you'll have to play over and over again to get top scores but not so difficult that it feels impossible. Great for short sporadic play sessions and really well done. I played it so much yesterday that the PSP's battery forced me to shutdown when it was empty. It's pretty rare that I get that much play time in one day.
We picked up a turntable last weekend and some records. My wife had been wanting one and I thought it sounded fun too so we spent parts of Saturday and Sunday checking out local record shops and looking for a turntable. We eventually found one we liked at a local shop, an Audio Technica AT-LP60X. So now we have a new hobby of hitting up record shops and vintage shops in search of good and interesting records. We definitely need more records so we don't get tired of the four we have at the moment. While talking to my mother yesterday I found out that my parents still have a bunch of records in their basement and was told we can have whatever we want. That should be fun to look through.
