Some time last year a Gemini group was started on Delta Chat just for fun. Most people have heard of Delta Chat by now, but if you haven't it's essentially an e-mail client that acts like it's a chat app. It adds a special header field to its messages so it can keep its own messages separate from your regular e-mails. (If you want that; for example if DC shares an inbox with your other e-mail clients.)
Delta Chat's desktop version is not good, actually, but it's also not so bad. It's just slow because it's some Electron monstrosity like Signal desktop and other bad desktop apps. The Android version, however, suits me just fine.
Our Gemini group was actually rather large for a Delta Chat group, at one time having about 20 users. Over time they gradually went AWOL, so when there was only like two or three of us left I closed the group and added its members to a general group chat. Since then more Geminauts have joined us so we split off into a new dedicated group again.
If you would like to join the group any time just install Delta Chat and from within Delta Chat itself send a message to my e-mail as seen at the top of this page.
